BooFC further extended their unbeaten run to seven games as they beat Tasek Meradun 6-5. It was a very entertaining match as both sides refused to give up but in the end it was the boos that emerged victorious with Marul scoring the winner in a timely fashion. Other names on the scoresheet included Kamal, Zazi, Fijul, Pojan and Muen.
The team in full: Pojan, Marul, Kamal, Syauqi, Fizul, Fwat, Zazi, Afiq, Gryn, Najib, Mahmud, Muen, Limin, Awi.
Kamal and Syauqi were paired upfront with Fizul and Zazi on the wings. Pojan and Fwat were anchored in midfield. Afiq, Gryn, Najib and Mahmud were on defence and Awi was in goal.
Meradun made the first real attack but their shot was saved by Awi. The boos were on counter-attack when Awi kicked the ball to Pojan. He passed it to Syauqi who then flicked the ball to Kamal. One goal up for the boos as Kamal scored his first goal with a sweet chip over the goalie. Another Pojan-Syauqi combination led to the boos second. Syauqi dummied Pojan's pass onto the path of Zazi who was left with a simple tap in. Pojan instructed a tactical change from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 but this instead resulted in Tasek Meradun's comeback. They headed in two goals to equalise and grabbed the lead with a sublime finish. Their fourth was the result of a deflection off Gryn which sent Awi the wrong way. By halftime the boos were 4-3 down. Fizul's solo effort in the box resulted in the third. The first goal from the midfielder.
Muen, Limin and Marul came on in place of Syauqi, Afiq and Kamal for the second half.
The boos equalised through a Pojan volley after Zazi got past two players to pull a cross in. Boofc then restored their lead after a fantastic strike from Muen. Safwat gave the ball to Muen who made no mistake as the ball was blasted into the bottom right corner of the goal. Tasek Meradun once again drew level, again from a header that took a deflection off Kamal. The boos look set for a second consecutive draw but a little Marul magic in the dying minutes gave the boos the winner. Marul received the ball from the left and turned his marker to put the ball into the net.
A hard-earned victory for the boos and most credits goes to Safwat as he ran around the pitch tirelessly for the sake of the boos.
